Helping you find balance and direction

About

Welcome.

I’m Lianne Duffy, an AHPRA-registered psychologist based in the Northern Rivers of NSW, providing online support across New South Wales.

I offer evidence-informed therapy for people navigating stress, emotional challenges and life transitions. Therapy can support deeper self-understanding and the development of practical skills for lasting change and greater wellbeing.

I take a holistic approach that offers a compassionate and collaborative space to make sense of difficulties and move towards a life worth living - whatever that may look like for you.

Although a mental health diagnosis can provide a useful understanding, my hope is that together we can look beyond labels to understand what has happened to you and how you have learned to cope. Practical strategies can be developed while exploring new ways of responding to challenging thoughts, emotions and situations. Therapy can also provide space to explore recurring patterns, support personal growth, and cultivate strengths that support wellbeing.

My work is informed by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and shaped by a background in healthcare that has fostered a strong commitment to person-centered care.

Fees & Referrals

The fee for a standard 50-minute consultation is $210.00. This practice does not provide bulk-billing services.

Medicare Rebate

If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP or Psychiatrist, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for psychology sessions under the Better Access initiative. Many people begin with a referral for up to six sessions, with the possibility of additional rebated sessions following a review with their GP or Psychiatrist, for a total of up to ten sessions per calendar year.

Please note that the Medicare rebate for a registered psychologist is $98.95 as of January 2025. A gap fee of $111.05 applies to each 50-minute session.

Private Clients

Private enquiries are welcome, and no referral is required to book an appointment. Some people choose to attend privately rather than access sessions through a Mental Health Care Plan. Session fees may be covered by your health insurance, where applicable. Please contact your health insurance company for eligibility. Please note that fees cannot be split between Medicare and private health insurers.

SIRA/Workers Compensation Clients

Clients with approved psychological treatment under the NSW workers’ compensation scheme (SIRA) may be able to access sessions through their claim. Please contact me if you would like to discuss whether this pathway may be suitable.

Referrals

GP and Psychiatrist referrals are welcome via Medical Objects, phone or email.
